Madeleine

Madeleine is a special education teacher by day and a voracious bookworm by night. She shares her bookish life on her literary-themed Instagram @topshelftext. A loyal New Englander, she loves the ocean, cats, organizing, and is an aspiring gardener. When she grows up, she wants to be the muggle version of Hermione Granger. Madeleine feels strongly about advocating for people with disabilities and for celebrating neurodiversity in schools.

RuthAnn (RA)

RA works in learning and development in the finance field and seriously loves spreadsheets. She is a Madeleine L'Engle superfan, and she shares about books and food at on Instagram @DefinitelyRA. RA lives with her husband and her dogin an adorable small town in Pennsylvania, where she volunteers at the local library once a week. When she's not reading multiple books at a time, she like to bake and write. RA is an advocate for the survivors of human trafficking in order to abolish modern slavery.

Alexandra

Alexandra is one part middle-school English teacher, one part Purdue Boilermaker, and 100% bibliophile.  She loves sharing her ever-growing booklist on her blog, Booked Up Blog, and on Instagram, @bookedupblog.  When her nose is not stuck in a book you can find her having game nights with her friends, going on long walks around her community, or organizing her life with her bullet journal.  After developing her chronic illness, Alexandra discovered her passion for spreading awareness of invisible illnesses and chronic conditions in literature and in life.

Morgan

Morgan is a 20-something reader who lives in New York City and works in the theater industry as the assistant to a Broadway producer.  Her blog, nycbookgirl, and Instagram, @nycbookgirl, combine her affinity for reading with her obsession with NYC.  When not reading, Morgan can be found spending time with her friends and family, watching a new play or musical, drinking coffee, or exploring the city.  Morgan is committed to celebrating the voice of women both on stage and in literature.

Chelsey

Chelsey is an educator and lifelong student. She shares book reviews and pictures of her dog Penny on Instagram @chelseysreads. In addition to reading, she loves cooking, podcasts, pretty mugs, and making lists. Chelsey is passionate about diverse representation in the ELA curriculum and believes that students of all colors, religions, and sexual identities deserve to see themselves represented in books.

Joslyn

Joslyn works as a registered nurse, she calls Tennessee home, and has spent the last two years traveling for work with her husband and dog. She rediscovered her love for reading after college and now shares that passion on Instagram @betruetoyourshelf. When she isn't reading she can be found cheering on her favorite sports teams (go Giants!) or exploring her current city. Joslyn is passionate about highlighting underrepresented voices and stories, so that we may learn from the experiences of others.

Lori

Lori is a writer who works from home while striving to keep two children alive and well in the process. With the support of her husband of eleven years, she chronicles her thoughts on books, the reading life, and adoption on her website, The Novel Endeavor, and on Instagram @thenovelendeavor. Lori is an Enneagram 4w5, an INTJ, a huge fan of college basketball, and the proud owner of a cat named Dobby. As a mom by transracial adoption (twice!), Lori cares deeply about adoption and foster care awareness, along with ethnic diversity and representation.

Sara

After beginning her career in finance, marketing, and business, Sara switched careers and became a middle school English teacher where she found her true passion. Sara assists teachers in implementing instructional technology in their classrooms as an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (ITRT). In her spare time, Sara enjoys reading (of course!), movies, exercise, and spending lots of time with her husband and children. She's on Instagram @meaningfulmadness and is also a co-host of a bookish podcast, Unabridged, where she gets to explore her nerdy English teacher love of reading with her two co-hosts. Sara is passionate about access to and learning about diverse literature, because as a mom of two children in a rural setting, she's aware of the limitations of our experiences. Sara want to raise her children as compassionate, loving, and socially aware citizens of our world.

Jessica

 

Jessica is a middle school language arts teacher. She is a native Phoenician who loves reading, traveling, and snowboarding. Jessica believes every child is a reader and is dedicated to finding the right book for each student. Jessica shares snippets from her reading & teaching life on Instagram @onlaughterandliteracy, where she features mostly middle grade and young adult literature. She strongly believes that diverse literature matters because every child should be able to identify with characters in books.
